Where creativity and design, meet sustainability and comfort
Borne from a desire to reduce textile waste, and a lack of quality, unique designs available, Purple Monkey Dishwasher Studio was created.
Bringing together one off, bespoke fashion with high quality construction and natural fabrics. Customisable pieces give you a say in the design process, creating something truly unique, and built to last…
How to order
Approximately 92 million tonnes of textile waste are dumped in landfills annually
The shorts and jeans used at Purple Monkey Dishwasher Studio are scoured from last chance factory sales and reimagined. That’s why there are often limited sizes and colours available, although we aim to keep a broad size range in stock.
Maximising sustainability and minimising waste.
Feature fabric panels are also sourced on last chance or remanence tables, and cut to maximise usage, so all panels are the same size. Side panels are the cut to fit depending on the shorts size ordered.
How it works
Our wide leg pants start with 100% cotton denim, either shorts or jeans that are saved from landfill at last chance factory sales.
Feature panels are cut to fit the width of the fabric, reducing textile waste and maximising design size.
Side panels are then cut from cotton drill, to fit the remaining gap in the pattern, increasing in width depending on the requested size.
The feature fabric panels are always the same dimensions, it’s only the side panels that are different according to the requested size
These are crisp white by default, although they can be paired with colours from the feature fabric, it’s completely up to you.
Lined with 100% cotton broadcloth, the seems are topstitched down, and with no tags, they’re extremely comfortable.
